This wonderful work of art is in need of community hanging space!
Freely designed as a contribution to art and community, co-produced with the children of Windermere Road at the Jubilee Street Party in June 2012, this colourful panel is sure to draw interest to the space in which it is hung. It was hoped that the mural could be located in the street itself, but an alternative is possible via an art loan to a local business.
The local business that's willing to offer wall space is Butler's Thai in South Ealing Road.
- Discussions have taken place with the owner of the cafe style restaurant
- The owner was open to the idea.
- It's was seen as a good opportunity to both enjoy community art together with good food.
There are 103 houses in our street, some of them are flats. I'm certain that many residents would like to see the mural hung somewhere so that they can celebrate the work of their (or their neighbour's) children, some of whom were only 2 or 3 years old. Well done artists!
Enquiries had previously been been made about hanging the mural on the side wall a nearby derelict shop, as suggested by some residents. However, as poster paints were used in some areas the mural panel is best suited for interior space.
