I bopped to the sounds of Robert Lane, when he performed at a lunch time session at OPEN Ealing Arts Centre in the Spring of 2012. His musical and songwriting abilites in my opinion were the best, out of all the performers seen at the local arts centre.
Deep lyrics, touching a sensitive yet detached part of me. Reminiscent of some of David Gray's songs but with a uniqueness that's crowned by Robert Lane himself. That's my perception, why not listen for yourself?
Here's a link to Robert's blog, he's on Facebook too:

Hi
I hope you’re well. I’ve got some exciting news to share with you;
New Video and Single
My latest single, You Want It Both Ways, will be available for download from the 1st of June. I’m very happy to share the promo video for the track with you.
You can see it by following this link (or, added by Isabella Wesoly, play the video below)
I’ve just got back from a trip to Dublin during which I performed a track on Balcony TV and played a set at Whelan’s. The performance on Balcony TV should appear on their website in the next month or so.
Upcoming Gigs
I’ve got several gigs around England coming up in the next few month, with more being added all the time. Keep up to date by visiting my website www.robertlanemusic.co.uk
Say Hello!
If you use facebook or twitter please like/follow me and get in touch, it’s always nice to hear from people.
I’m writing this as the sun defiantly shines through a clear but cold sky, lifting spirits and allowing thoughts to tentatively look forward to the warming of the spring.
Or something like that.
I’m getting in touch to tell you about some exciting gigs that are coming up this week.
Video Shoot at Yardbird On Sunday 24th February I’m performing the headline set at Birmingham’s Yardbird Jazz Café. My set is being filmed for a video for a future single and I need as many people as possible to turn up and be in the audience so come along if you fancy getting your face in the video. The gig is free entry, I’m on from about 9.45pm and also appearing are Siblings, Easy Street, David Garside and Brains For Breakfast.
BBC Nottingham and gig date at The Malt Cross On Wednesday 13th February I performed two songs and chatted with Alan Clifford on his drive time show on BBC Nottingham.
The reason for my visit was to promote the show I’m playing in Nottingham on Tuesday the 19th February at The Malt Cross supporting Bonsai Projects.
Playing before Eric Clapton concert. On the 13th May Eric Clapton will play at Birmingham's LG Arena as part of a tour celebrating his 50th year as a professional musician. I'm thrilled to say that I will be performing in the Forum Live before the concert. Eric is one of my biggest influences and idols, so it is very exciting to get this opportunity.
Tickets for the concert are available on the LG Arena website:
